Wilmington ranked third best city for startups

WILMINGTON, Del. – Entrepreneur Media and personal finance site NerdWallet have named Wilmington the third best city to start a business. Ranked first and second are Alpharetta, Georgia, and Redmond, Washington, respectively.

A total of 463 cities were judged. To compile the ranking, the cities were judged on population size, number of businesses, average revenue per business, businesses with paid employees, businesses per 100 people and unemployment rate.

Wilmington fared best in population and average revenue per business.
